I am usualy a big fan of Melissa & Doug toys, however upon reading the toy safety review for this item (put out by HealthyStuff dot Org), I was upset to find that this toy scored a Chemical Level of Medium (High is worst, Low is best). This toy was found to contain Chlorine (PVC). Flexible PVC plastic can contain plasticizers called phthalates.
